Polly Tucker- PRTeventing
I started riding at the age of two sitting in a basket saddle and progressed through lead rein and first ridden showing classes before moving onto working hunter ponies at regional and national championship level. I have been a keen member of Syston Branch of the Pony Club since I was three years old and have competed successfully as an individual and a team member in dressage, show jumping, hunter trials, triathlons and one day events, more recently taking my 'B' test and accreditation from PC HQ to teach at rallies as a young instructor. The highlight to date in my pony club career has to be individual 2nd and team champions at the National Eventing Championships in 2007 with Blue Rangoon. Pony club has provided a wonderful background for my riding and competing, I also enjoyed being a 'Fledgling' in British Dressage competing at regional level. At the age of twelve I was finally old enough to do what I had been waiting for, competing under British Eventing rules and was lucky enough to have a fantastic ex-FEI pony on which to start, who very quickly took me through to the British Championships where I was just out of the rosettes.
Eventing has continued to be my main interest and I set my sights trialling for the JRN and completed my first JRN year with all runs clear across country, until the horse's injury prevented me from continuing. More recently I have competed with Lord Percy II concentrating on dressage, as this is where I felt his talents lay, and he has rewarded me with fantastic scores, qualifying for the PC National Dressage Championships in August 2009.
'Awesome' and 'Blue Rangoon' have help cement PRTeventing firmly in it's place, sadly Awesome passed away this year but will never be forgotten. For 2011 we found a new member 'Skywatch' who will be a much valued team member. 2012 I will be concentrating on Intermediate and U21 trials, hopefully aiming at Young Rider 3 day and 1 and 2 star events. I still enjoy riding for individuals both showing and jumping and being slight and small can still easily ride ponies to school or compete. I am currently training with Advance event rider Alex Peternell.
I am always on the look out for new rides for the current season please feel free to contact me to join a fantastic team who a committed, hard working, friendly, up and coming and gaining good results allround.
