I can only say a huge sorry for the delay in my recent post but all will be explained............
Since my last diary entry there have been many exciting thing that have happened at PRTeventing and one very sad piece of news. Unfortunatly we had to have Wally put to sleep, after a routine check the vet found him to have heart problems and was very concerned he could have a heart attack at any point so the difficult decision was made to have him put to sleep. We have been missing him greatly as he was a big part of the team but we have to move on and focus on the future. We have been looking for a horse to fill his space and i was kindly offered the loan of a ex 3 star horse previously ridden by Joe Meyer please welcome SKY. He has been at he yard for a couple of days and the first aim with him will be Badminton dressage qualifiers this weekend but the ultimate aim is Intermediate and one star with him. I am very excited to have two horse to aim at two star this year, on top of this I have been offered the ride on a promising youngster called Bertie owned by Mrs Barke. We have been schooling him ready for his first BE, he is a ex race horse but has huge talent to burn and will make a very talented eventer so I am very grateful for this opportunity to event him.
To everyone I saw at Badminton it was lovely to meet you all, I got to see many of the sponsors and supporters of PRTeventing which was great. I bought a top hat and have placed a pre order on a tail coat ready in prep for a one star later on in the year, so quite a expensive Badminton this year. It was a lovely event and I was lucky enough to be on the horse ambulance at the washing down area so got to meet and talk with many of the event riders.
As you are very aware the season has started and I have already taken part in two BE100open classes with Blue and are soon to be competing in our first ON of the year at Mount Ballan next weekend. Our first event was Swalcliffe where Blue decided the XC looked far more exciting so we had a disappointing dressage mark however he made up for this with a storming double clear, we earned two more foundation points. Our most recent event was Bickenhall where Blue pulled out a lovely dressage test however the judge did not agree still it was a ok but average score, yet again Blue surpassed himself and stormed the bold course for another double clear and added 2 more foundation points. On wards and up wards, Blue and Sky are both in full training ready for there next events and have been attending pony club to try out for this years teams.
As supporters of PRTeventing Aardvark Safaris are running a competition to win a safari holiday..............!!!! Don't miss out for your chance to win please enter online via there website
